Yes ProgrammeClimate Change & Energy Week 17-21 August 2009

The CWCBR arranged a programme which included an overnight trip. The group of scholars visited Atlantis water works, Eskom Koeberg Environmental Centre, the West Coast National Park and the West Coast Fossil Park. Discussion topics included Climate change, energy efficiency and sustainable alternative energy sources. The emphasis of the programme was to show the link between energy consumption to energy production and its effects on the environment, more specifically climate change.

 

Yes ProgrammeTourism & Heritage Week 7-11 September

This programme was in the form of a 3 days and 2 nights trip. The trip started at the Table Mountain National Park, where learners hiked the People’s Trail. On the second and third day learners visited !Kwa Ttu – San Cultural Centre and the West Coast Fossil Park. Discussion topics included tourism, eco-tourism and heritage sites in South Africa, the impacts of tourism on the economy and the environment, careers in tourism and cultural and natural heritage as sources of life and inspiration.
